Connecting to Mars, Sun, Venus, Earth and Jupiter, following the trajectory of the comet 3IAtlas – the interstellar visitor, we will rediscover meanings and archetypes that are associated with these entities.

How can we connect with the planets and their own unique resonance?
How can we receive messages from the planets and become their oracles?
In this 5-week class, taught by Norwegian artist Tanja Thorjussen, we will find inspiration from the cosmos, explore practical techniques to find our own expression, and create new art in a workshop setting.

Through drawing/writing workshops, sharing knowledge/discussions, and guided meditations we will explore messages of the planets and celestial entities.
What does Venus and Mars express of the sacred masculine and feminine? What can the Earth and the Sun teach us of abundance and reciprocity? What or who is 3IAtlas?

In the summer of 2025, when 3IAtlas appeared as an unannounced visitor into our solar system, I received divine inspiration to begin a new body of work titled “Metaxi Apeiron”. In this work I visualized fragments of new mythologies through images and words. I created a story of a great Dragonfly spirit that two Tupilaq entities, guided by snake psychopomps, came to visit. When I later learned about 3IAtlas and its significant flying by first Mars, then the Sun, Venus, then Earth and Jupiter, I realized that my art was about this journey. In a highly symbolic way, for the past months 3IAtlas has integrated wisdom, healing and trauma from the sacred masculine and the sacred feminine, and both Mars and Venus are now in an alchemical transformation behind the sun, out of our view, their exact conjunction being January 9th 2026.

To me these astronomical events are significant to what we are going through as humanity with our way of dealing with past/current violent, patriarchal, capitalistic systems. I think we can use the symbolic trajectory of 3IAtlas to create balance with the sacred masculine, and the sacred feminine, and as in alchemical philosophy see the sun as a great transformer and merger of these two archetypes into a balanced whole.

This is a hands-on workshop oriented class where we use drawing and writing in an explorative way, focusing on the creative process.
You will use drawing materials such as pencil/color pencils, watercolor, paper, and a sketchbook, sketch paper.
No previous artmaking skills are needed, just an open mind and willingness to test new approaches to making art.
