Size: 66 cm wide x 102 cm tall ( x 3 pieces ) Year: 2018/19 Melissa is a godess and / or nymph and the Greek word for bee and honey (Meli). The name is ancient and you will find variations of it back to ancient times. Goddesses are often represented with three heads, in three stages, or in three forms that mirror and reflect the three stages of life of being a young, mature, and old woman such as a virgin, mother, and grandmother. Hebe: The youth goddess, was the daughter of Zeus and Hera and served the gods immortality drink nectar and ambrosia to eat, she symbolizes eternal young life. Hera: Goddess of the Mature Woman and the protector of the family, maternity and birth in Ancient Greek Religion and mythology. Hekate: The old woman, represents the underground, magic, crossroads, science of plants in magic, the moon, ghosts and witchcraft. |
