Picture
I have always been drawing, however in 2006, when moving from New York to Oslo, I found myself without a studio and started drawing, not as a means toward a painting, but to be explored in and of itself, I have since stayed with drawing as a main expression.

Drawing is for me a meditation, when I draw an animal I also meditate on this creature, its habitat and conditions and its spirituality and own self within this world.

I have always liked working big, and this is no exception in drawing, I found that I could draw creatures, cut them out and mount them on the wall as a wall collage to create bigger works.

Through drawing on watercolor-paper I often use the paper itself as a tool to obtain a certain texture or surface. In my large works (such as Bardo) I use handmade cotton watercolor paper made in India at a sustainable farm. For smaller works I use Aquarelle Arches watercolor blocks with its smooth or rough surface. All paper is acid free and chlorine free made of 100% cotton fibers.
